Adap­ta­tion qual­i­fi­ca­tions for health­care professions

Recog­ni­tion means that a for­eign pro­fes­sion­al qual­i­fi­ca­tion is legal­ly equiv­a­lent to a Ger­man pro­fes­sion­al qual­i­fi­ca­tion. When Ger­man author­i­ties check the equiv­a­lence of your qual­i­fi­ca­tion, this is called a “recog­ni­tion pro­ce­dure” or “equiv­a­lence check”.

Health­care pro­fes­sion­als with train­ing from non-EU coun­tries usu­al­ly receive par­tial recog­ni­tion and must com­plete a post-qual­i­fi­ca­tion in order to be able to work as a spe­cial­ist in Ger­many.
