Sustainable integration of refugees living in Karlsruhe
Refugees living in Karlsruhe in follow-up accommodation are supported with the aim of building an independent life. This can only be achieved in the long term once the people have
- have acquired the German language
- have a job that can support them and their family
- have adequate housing available
- can manage their parental responsibilities, if they have children. (This includes, among other things, attending a daycare center, school or acquiring extracurricular education)
- have participation in the community through social integration
Integration management provides assistance, accompanies and supports people in successfully integrating into society. Typical tasks for the achievement of goals are among others
- the joint creation of an individual support plan with time targets
- referral to specialist services in the event of psychosocial problems
- advising parents on parenting and educational issues
- Mediation of offers for the acquisition of German language skills
- Mediation of further educational offers with regard to professional advancement
- Supporting people in their efforts on the job market
- Mediation of leisure time offers (clubs, cultural offers etc.)
- Advice on asylum and residence law as well as on questions of family reunification
- Expansion of intercultural communication and meeting places
