Coun­sel­ing and Sup­port on Female Gen­i­tal Mutilation

The Jus­tice Project e.V. offers coun­sel­ing from Mon­day to Fri­day for women and girls who are affect­ed by or at risk of female gen­i­tal muti­la­tion (FGM/C), as well as for their fam­i­lies in the city and dis­trict of Karlsruhe.

World­wide, more than 230 mil­lion women and girls are affect­ed by FGM/C. At the OASE coun­sel­ing cen­ter, sup­port­ing affect­ed or at-risk women and girls is part of every­day work. Many come from African coun­tries of ori­gin and often car­ry the con­se­quences of this vio­lence in silence. At the same time, their daugh­ters are often also at risk.

Our Ser­vices

The OASE coun­sel­ing cen­ter pro­vides sup­port on Female Gen­i­tal Mutilation:

• Pre­ven­tion and aware­ness-rais­ing on rights and pro­tec­tion options
• Trau­ma-informed and cul­tur­al­ly sen­si­tive counseling
• Refer­ral to med­ical professionals
• Aware­ness and train­ing with­in sup­port sys­tems, includ­ing social ser­vices, refugee accom­mo­da­tions, doc­tors, mid­wives, and oth­er professionals

🫂Coun­sel­ing is con­fi­den­tial 🤫 and avail­able to affect­ed indi­vid­u­als and their families.
