The Justice Project e.V. offers counseling from Monday to Friday for women and girls who are affected by or at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM/C), as well as for their families in the city and district of Karlsruhe.
Worldwide, more than 230 million women and girls are affected by FGM/C. At the OASE counseling center, supporting affected or at-risk women and girls is part of everyday work. Many come from African countries of origin and often carry the consequences of this violence in silence. At the same time, their daughters are often also at risk.
Our Services
The OASE counseling center provides support on Female Genital Mutilation:
- Prevention and awareness-raising on rights and protection options
- Trauma-informed and culturally sensitive counseling
- Referral to medical professionals
- Awareness and training within support systems, including social services, refugee accommodations, doctors, midwives, and other professionals
