My Turn – Women and Work

Career Sup­port for Migrant Women in Karlsruhe

My Turn – Women and Work is a career sup­port pro­gram for migrant women in Karl­sruhe and the sur­round­ing area who want to (re)enter the labor mar­ket in Germany.

Are you a woman who was born in anoth­er coun­try and has come to Ger­many?
Would you like pro­fes­sion­al guid­ance and long-term sup­port to build your career?

You may want to:

  • improve your Ger­man lan­guage skills
  • start voca­tion­al train­ing or fur­ther education
  • find a job that match­es your skills and interests
  • earn your own income while bal­anc­ing work and fam­i­ly life

We sup­port migrant women with:

  • recog­ni­tion of for­eign cer­tifi­cates and qualifications
  • find­ing a suit­able Ger­man lan­guage course
  • iden­ti­fy­ing the right pro­fes­sion or voca­tion­al training
  • writ­ing CVs and job applications
  • bal­anc­ing fam­i­ly respon­si­bil­i­ties and pro­fes­sion­al life

What We Offer 

  • a per­son­al female con­tact person
  • reg­u­lar one-on-one coun­sel­ing sessions
  • group work­shops on career-relat­ed topics
  • long-term sup­port until Decem­ber 2028
  • sus­tain­able inte­gra­tion into the labor market
  • refer­rals to addi­tion­al sup­port ser­vices pro­vid­ed by fka, such as lan­guage cours­es, ther­a­py for refugees, and spe­cial­ized counseling

Who Is the My Turn Project for?

The My Turn – Women and Work project is aimed at migrant women from Karl­sruhe and the sur­round­ing region who want to enter or re-enter employment.

Fund­ed by the ESF Plus pro­gram “MY TURN – Women with Migra­tion Expe­ri­ence Get Start­ed”, the project sup­ports women in devel­op­ing a pro­fes­sion­al future based on their indi­vid­ual strengths, skills, and goals.

Our tar­get group includes in par­tic­u­lar new­ly arrived women who:

  • have a secure res­i­dence status
  • have suf­fi­cient Ger­man lan­guage skills
  • do not yet hold a rec­og­nized voca­tion­al qual­i­fi­ca­tion in Germany
  • or have not been employed for at least four years

Through indi­vid­ual coun­sel­ing and group work­shops, we pro­mote long-term inte­gra­tion into the Ger­man labor mar­ket.

Coun­sel­ing for Migrant Women

Pos­si­ble coun­sel­ing and work­shop top­ics include:

  • find­ing advanced lan­guage courses
  • CV and job appli­ca­tion writing
  • work–family bal­ance counseling
  • empow­er­ment and con­fi­dence-build­ing workshops
  • intern­ship placement
  • recog­ni­tion of for­eign qualifications
  • infor­ma­tion on career and train­ing opportunities
  • skills and poten­tial analysis
  • job appli­ca­tion training

Work­shops: CV and Job Appli­ca­tion Writing

Cur­rent­ly, we offer a mul­ti-day work­shop every month on CV and job appli­ca­tion writ­ing.
Par­tic­i­pa­tion is pos­si­ble inde­pen­dent­ly of indi­vid­ual coun­sel­ing.
