Elterntalk – A Meeting Space for Parents to Talk About Family Life and Media

What is Elterntalk?

Elterntalk is a place where mothers and fathers can meet in a relaxed setting to talk about everyday family life, media use, smartphone and internet experiences, digital games, and other parenting topics. The meetings are moderated by trained parents, are free of charge, and can be held in different languages if required. The meetings take place in a private, personal setting—for example, at parents’ homes or at familiar locations in the neighborhood.

Elterntalk is part of a state-wide project run by Aktion Jugendschutz Landesarbeitsstelle Baden-Württemberg e. V. (ajs). It is funded by the Kinderland Baden-Württemberg Foundation and state funds approved by the Baden-Württemberg state parliament.

In Karlsruhe, the city is one of the first project locations in the state with its Children’s Office in the area of child and youth protection.
