B2 Job-Relat­ed Ger­man Course with Bridg­ing Mod­ule – 500 Teach­ing Units

This B2 Job-Relat­ed Ger­man Course (DeuFöV) is designed for peo­ple who already have B1-lev­el Ger­man and would like to improve their Ger­man for work.

The class­room-based course con­sists of 500 teach­ing units (UE) and includes a bridg­ing mod­ule to sup­port the tran­si­tion from B1 to B2. The aim is to reach B2 lev­el accord­ing to the CEFR, with a par­tic­u­lar focus on com­mu­ni­ca­tion and Ger­man lan­guage skills need­ed in the workplace.

Who can attend free of charge?

The course is free of charge only if you have a DeuFöV autho­ri­sa­tion (Berech­ti­gungss­chein) from the Job­cen­ter or Fed­er­al Employ­ment Agency (Agen­tur für Arbeit).

If you are unem­ployed or look­ing for work, con­tact your Job­cen­ter or Agen­tur für Arbeit and ask for a DeuFöV authorisation.

If you are employed, com­plet­ing voca­tion­al train­ing or going through a pro­fes­sion­al recog­ni­tion pro­ce­dure, you can con­tact the Fed­er­al Office for Migra­tion and Refugees (BAMF) direct­ly:

If you are employed and do not receive addi­tion­al ben­e­fits, you may have to pay a con­tri­bu­tion of €2.56 per teach­ing unit.

Place­ment and registration

Once you have your autho­ri­sa­tion, you can attend a place­ment con­sul­ta­tion to find the course that best match­es your Ger­man lan­guage level.
